Tournaments for children and juniors 22

Children in Kraków can play a tournament almost every weekend of the school year. The Kraków school chess league offers free tournaments for pupils of schools and kindergartens, Klub Szachowy Dwie Wieże runs Turniejowe początki for first tournaments and category events in Bronowice, and the Turniej o Krakowskiego Smoka is played in age groups at the city stadium arena. The Małopolska junior league and its team championships bring club and school teams together in Nowa Huta.

District councils hold school cups, as Prądnik Czerwony does at the youth culture house on Al. 29 Listopada, and a kindergarten holds a championship of its own. Outside the city there are the Wieliczka commune’s school games, the Gambit M&R events and a national memorial in Rząska, the district head’s cup in Zabierzów and the Liszki cup in Ściejowice. The Cracovia festival and Nauka i Szachy keep junior groups beside their open ones.
