FIDE-rated tournaments in and around Kraków 22

Kraków’s rated calendar is long. The Cracovia festival at Hotel Galaxy is its largest event, and the international championship of Małopolska, the Bobołowicz and Dwornik memorials, the Independence Day tournament on 11 November and the Mikołajki tournament of KKSz 1893 return every year. Monthly rapid and blitz tournaments with a FIDE rating have also been played in the city.

Team chess counts too: the Małopolska divisions of the Polish team championship, the junior league and the league for teams without a club play their rounds in the AGH main library and the Nowohuckie Centrum Kultury. Children meet rated play in the Kraków school league, the Cztery Pory Roku series of UKS Bakcyl and the junior Grand Prix of Dwie Wieże, while Zabierzów and Wieliczka add a district cup, a night blitz marathon and a blitz championship.
