Blitz tournaments around Kraków 8

Blitz in Kraków has a pub home. IT Chess Club Kraków turns some of its Thursday evenings at Bikershot Pub on ul. Czarnowiejska into pub blitz tournaments with free entry, and the Saturday series of KKSz 1893 also plays at a fast pace, for the club’s own members. The Tuesday cycle of TKKF Drogowiec on ul. Sienkiewicza carries the blitz name, but its time control of about ten minutes per player puts it among the rapid tournaments.

Rated blitz comes with the memorial of Tadeusz Dwornik in April, a monthly FIDE blitz series and the Małopolska junior championships in October. Wieliczka is the blitz town of the area: it holds a night blitz marathon in July and a town blitz championship, and its MOS club plays seasonal blitz events. The Dwie Wieże junior Grand Prix keeps a blitz ranking beside its rapid one.
